Salmonella antisera
Salmonella remains a major concern in food safety, being a leading cause of foodborne illness and severe outcomes in vulnerable populations. Reliable serotyping is essential for accurate diagnosis, effective surveillance, and improvements in public health1.
SSI Diagnostica Group has more than 75 years of experience with research and production of Salmonella antisera. We offer a wide range of products with strong portfolio breadth and depth to facilitate accurate identification as specified by the Kaufmann-White Scheme.

Gold Standard in Serotyping
The Kauffmann–White Le Minor scheme describes the antigen composition of >2,500 identified Salmonella enterica serotypes. SSI Diagnostica Group produces more than 200 different Salmonella antisera, making it possible to type 99% of all Salmonella serotypes.
All our antisera are produced in accordance with the Pasteur guidence: “Guidelines for the preparation of Salmonella antisera” (ref.: WHO Collaborating Centre for Reference and Research on Salmonella, Institute Pasteur, France).
Quality and storage
SSI Diagnostica Group’s ready-to-use antisera are CE-marked quality and produced in accordance with DS/EN ISO 13485. The shelf life is 4 years from the date of production, and a minimum of 2 years from the shipping date. Sodium azide (final concentration of 0.09%) is added to all Salmonella antisera as a preservative.
The antisera must be stored at 2–8°C.
Product range
SSI Diagnostica Group’s Salmonella antisera can identify O and H antigens and the capsular antigen Vi. In addition to Salmonella antisera, we also offer Schwörm agar for phase inversion:

Salmonella O and Vi antisera
For subtyping of Salmonella (O poly), O multi-group screening (O group pool), determining O group and factor as well as investigating the presence of Vi capsular antigen.

Salmonella H antisera
For subtyping of Salmonella (H poly), multiphase screening (H phase pool), determining H phase, H factor, R phase as well as H phase inversion in swarm agar plates.

Sero-Quick Group Kit
For quick screening of Salmonella.

Sero-Quick ID Kit
Quick identification of S. enteritidis and S. typhimurium.

Schwörm agar
Used in combination with H antisera for Salmonella H-phase detection.
